Updates!!

Ok so I realize it’s been quite a while and I haven’t posted anything. So a quick update, no I am not going to be writing about lamantations lol.

Short and sweet, new job is going great, minus the pooh incident tonight. That was on my worst moments list. Let’s just say having to clean a face smeared with pooh is not my idea of a good shift. Second, had a great few days with my cousin. one which I haven’t seen in a long time, 9 years!! YIKES!! Lastly I am soo tired I think I will hit the hay! Good Night y’all

Lamenting!

So I  made the decision that in order for me to move forward there are some things in which I need to change. One of those “things” is studying the bible or rather the lack there of it on my part.

It’s been quite some time since I dove in head first and truly looked at what the His Word was saying, not only to all of us but for me personally. So I will start with something short and simple. Well maybe once I get in it, it wont be so simple. Anyhow I have chosen to read the book of Lamentations! The reason for picking this book of the bible, well quite simple actually. I have never really paid attention to it before!

And thus my journey back into the bible starts. Watch for the updates on what I’ve learned/gained from the lamenting of Israel!

It Just Keeps Getting Better!!

Alright I do have to say that I am pretty skeptical of christian retreats, camps special services etc. However this weekend my mind was blown out of the water. BLOWN AWAY like it has never been before!!

I was sponsored by my totally awesome friend and roommate Jenn. Like me it takes  a lot  to “move” me. I think it probably steams from the fact that we are both PK’s and we have this idea placed in our head that we have seen it all and there is nothing more that can be revealed to us. Well I remember when she came back from her Tres Dias weekend and she was a changed person! Now two years later I have returned from my Tres Dias a changed person as well!

From the smallest of revelations to one great big huge one! I never knew the things that were holding me back from fulfilling what God has called me to do and who he wants me to be! The joy far beyond anything I have ever felt and the freedom to be who I am is UNREAL! I can honestly say I have never in my entire life felt more comfortable being who I am and the ability to be able to say that and mean it just knocks my socks off!

Needless to say I am forever changed and I CAN NOT wait to sponsor someone, or maybe multiple people to go next year!!

Friend or Foe

So As I mentioned in my last post I joined the gym. I have thus far been enjoying myself, attending the classes, working in the weight training area. Then today I decided to do something new.

So I got through my usually routine, today I went of the treadmill for about 30 minutes then I decide to go to the weights area. I really enjoy this part because the machines are so cool. There is a rotation that you do which works out every muscle in your body, it’s pretty neat and I love it! Anyhow after I go through the cycle I notice that the gym was almost empty and no one is on the elliptical machines. Now most days it is pretty full and almost every machine is being used. So I decided that it looked very easy to do and that I who have only been at the gym a little over a week can do it! So I get on start the bad boy up and set it for 10 minutes. You know can’t over do it with the time just “incase” I can’t hack it! So I’m going and all of a sudden I’m at minute # 3 and I barely move my legs to make the thing turn!! Sweat is pouring down my face and I am breathing heavy…In my brain I’m thinking what the crap!! You can do this what is wrong with you. Then I look in the mirrors and I see myself, what do I see, someone who is about to pass out if she doesn’t stop.

I could not believe it! This piece of equipment looks as though it is so easy to use. What I did not take into consideration was that the muscles I was using have never been used like that before. It was like my body was telling me, stop abusing me I can only do so much you idiot!

What have a learned from this boneheaded experience you might ask?? I need to build up a resistance before I step on that machine again! Today the elliptical is my foe.

What the BLEEP!

Ok so I haven’t blogged in a few and the reason being I haven’t had the time nor the energy to sit a write. There are things to tell mind you, topics I could have blogged about for days on end like oh lets see, I got a tattoo, I’m going to be an aunt..just to name a few.

This new news however merits my missing some sleep to blabber on about. I worked a night shift last night, hence the beauty sleep I am missing to type this. I am unsure what it is but I must have a “pick me” sign stapled to my forehead when it comes to people feeling the need to set me up. Yes that’s correct it has happened several times and it’s now been twice with my co-workers.

I mean really, do I have this “I need help with men” look about me? Am I in some way screaming “find me a husband’? I DO NOT THINK SO!! Don’t get me wrong I think it’s nice that these people want to see me with someone good and decent but there are  few things needing to be considered. First of all, if you want me to like the person he shouldn’t be a decade older then me..yes that happened with set up # 1 last year.

So last night my co-worker asked me if I would be ok with him giving my contact information to his brother. “Oh he is a good Christian man Dawn” thats fine and dandy..I could have something more to say on that but I wont rant So I give my typical well I’d have think about it speech and then here comes the kicker! Not only does this guy not live in the city,province or country.He isn’t even on the same flipping continent !! Yes I would love to give my number to a complete stranger that isn’t anywhere remotely close to me. NOT!! Sure the long distance charges wont be a big deal!! I think NOT!!

I mean seriously, do I have to attract the crazy town people where ever I go? I’d just love to know why it is that people feel the need to find someone for me. All I have to say is, I’ll find my someone when I’m good and ready to find him and when he is good and ready to be found! UGH I am just so tired of people seeing my being single as something they have to fix. 

FYI I’M NOT BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

CSI How I Love Thee!

Ok so I am an avid CSI watcher. Although I couldn’t care much for the Miami show, bad acting is all I need say. So tonight I got home late from work and so I thought why not catch CSI New York before I go to be.

I knew it was going to be new. So the typical plots to the murders etc, always a twist in the end. Anywho, for those of you following the show Danny and Lindsay had a relationship, things got rocky for them, however Lindsay AKA “Montana” ending up prego! I’m not sure if she she prego in real live though…something I must research. Anyhow, I have thought from day one the characters had chemistry and it should go places. Well I got my wish tonight!

Are you ready…drum role please…..Danny and Lindsay got married! I am so excited! Woot! What an excellent way to keep me the veiwer hooked on the show, why you might as? Because you know crap is going to happen. There are so many ways their story can go now!

I know this is pathetic..it’s what 2 in the morning and I’m blogging about my addictive ploys to TV shows. What can I say, I have no life, it revolves around my tv watching haha. Maybe if I got myself a boyfriend this would change…nah probably not, I’d just subject him to watching all my shows, no fancy dinner dates for me, let me watch my shows and I’m a happy camper…well maybe dinner in between shows HA!!

Blossoms!

For years I’ve always wanted to get a tattoo however one major road block has stood in my way. Having a fear of needles doesn’t really help a person when they want to have something permanently etched on their body. Since I was little all I can remember is not enjoying visits to the doctor if I had to have a needle of some sort. even in school when we had to get our booster shots I’d be sick to my stomach all day long thinking about having a needle stuck in my arm. I’m not sure what it is about a needle that just gets me going. I can’t sit still, I get knots in my stomach, sometimes I even sweat due to being nervous.

So you may wonder, for someone who feels this way about being poked at why on earth would I subject myself to getting a tattoo? Well my thoughts are, maybe this in some way will help me get over the phobia I have. Also I’ve just always wanted a Tattoo so I’ve been thinking for a while now why not do this to kill two birds with one stone!  Get one up on my fear and bonus have some Sweet body art to show for it.

Thursday March 19th baby @ 10 in the AM Dawn will be inked for the first time! Excitement!!

New News

It’s been a while since my last blog and a lot has happened in that time. So the new news is, I have officially started to look for a new job. Hopefully my boss doesn’t see this haha. After almost a year and a half I’ve decided it’s time for me to move on and be happier. Most of my unhappiness has come due to my current job so I figure rather then kid myself in thinking it will get better I need to make a change. I’m going to take he plunge into something new and different and quite frankly in the directions I should be going with my life. HOORAY for positive change. Now it’s a matter of praying for things to work out!

Obsession

Wow it really has been a while since my last post and there is a very good explanation for this. I have been quietly wrapped up in the world of the vampire. Ok before some of you have a complete freak out let me explain!

This past year there was a book series that became wildly popularly on screen. That’s right, you’ve guessed it “Twilight”. I, like quiet a few people I know thought, oh this is just going to be some lame teeny bopper craze. I refused to look at trailers read excerpts from the book etc. It wasn’t until I was at work that I over heard some of my co-workers talking about how amazing the book series was.

Now these are individuals I share a love of books with. I trusted there judgement and began my consideration in purchasing the first book, Twilight. So my roommate and I went to chapters last weekend and I saw that the book was only ten bucks and with my irewards card I’d get another 10% off. That was a deal I could not pass up. So I bought that along with a couple of other books I had been wanting to add to my collection.

We get home and I am deciphering which book I want to pick up and start devouring. I figured, might as well see what this Twilight fuss is all about. By now it’s 11:00 on Saturday night and I have to be up at 6 AM for work in the morning. I settled in my bed and decided I’d read the first chapter and go to bed. Well the next time I looked up at the clock it was 2 AM and I was about 150 pages in. I could not believe it! From the beginning I was sucked in and by Monday morning I had finished the book!

So of course later Monday I had to go out and buy the 3 remaining books belonging to the series. It’s now Friday and this evening I just started the last book. It’s taken everything in me to rip myself away from the book and do something else. My week has consisted of work, read, take a moment to converse with Jenn about the book, watching the Twilight movie and read, read some more!

I have never in my life been so engrossed with a book compilation before and I love to read! If only we could all find an Edward to love!! Well minus the vampire part…but on second thought..haha. I kid, I kid! But in all honesty, if you are looking for a good read, something entertaining, thrilling a PAGE TURNER feel free to ask me for a loan of them!

So what will I be doing for the remainder of my evening you ask? Well I am going to prolong reading so I have something to look forward to tomorrow! For now I am going to surf the net and day dream about what will happen next to Edward and Bella.

Oh to find the one and be able to say “you’re my life now”

Insomniac, I Am or I’m Not

Well it is now 5:58 in the AM and I have yet to have gone to bed. It seems to be a recurring ordeal, a couple hours of sleep or no sleep at all. Then I’m left in the state I’m in now, wide awake with a splitting headache.

So what did I do to occupy myself in the wee hours of the morning. I checked my email and then I actually attempted to try and sleep. However after two hours of getting absolutely no where I turned on the television and began to watch mindless tv. It was during this time that I realized, this is how people buy really stupid and pointless things. Yet I found myself being pulled in myself only to pull myself right back out.

I mean really an “Ott Lamp” do I really need that. Now let me tell you it is like having direct sun light in your home and it magnifies the true colors that surround you. So of course I’m all over that. Then I got to thinking, why do I need something that gives off the same light as the sun in my house, the sun already does that for me. Then the lovely shopping channel ladies showed the difference in color under a regular lamp and the “Ott Lamp”. I mean really unless you are color blind I don’t think you need to worry about your belt being a slightly off tone from your outfit. That is unless you are obsessive with needing to match perfectly. If so then you may have bought this lamp if you were me at 4 am this morning. 

I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to find a remedy for this sickness I have. The sickness of not being able to sleep. Why you may ask? Well #1 I can’t sleep and #2 I end up sleeping my day away which in turn makes it ten times more difficult to sleep at night!

Needless to say, I am still awake and I’m sure I will find some sleep at some point today, at least I hope! So I will bid the bloggy world adjure and either rest my head on a pillow or find something creative to try and make me sleepy.
